For six years, Robert portrayed Sgt. Getraer on the hit series CHiPs.  He enjoyed working on the show, and to this day remains friends and is in contact with many of his co-stars.  Please peruse through this page, which includes episode synopsis by the season, photos from Robert's personal collection of his years on the series, as well as covering the CHiPs '99 reunion television movie.  Check back as we add personal comments from Robert about his time on the show.

CHIPS: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON was released on DVD from Turner Home Entertainment on June 5, 2007.  The six-disc set includes all episodes from the first season.  Additionally, the DVD set includes never-before-seen special features: CHiPs: The Ride Out of Spanish Harlem retrospective featurette and all-new introductions by Erik Estrada on select episodes.

Gear up for more'70s-era action-packed adventures with Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox as TV's favorite California Highway Patrol officers Frank "Ponch" Poncharello and Jon Baker in season four of CHiPs. Among the action this season is a special two-part episode where the two friends and motorcycle cops have to deal with a gigantic boulder that threatens the homes and highway below it, as a celebrity bicycle rally and fundraiser goes on. Plus, crop vandalism, theft of construction equipment, kidnapping of one of their fellow officers, a neighborhood crime watch group that spawns a vigilante movement and the possibility that the California coast is fertile territory for a smuggling ring. Also starring Robert Pine, Paul Linke, Brodie Greer, Lou Wagner and Randi Oakes, season four features guest stars Sonny Bono and Larry Storch (F Troop), among others.

Jon uses his off-duty rodeo hobby to help a lonely juvenile offender. Barry, a bored teen-ager using freeway signs for target practice, causes the serious injury of a motorist. Caught by the police, the boy is taken in hand by Jon Baker, who understands the former ranch dweller's homesickness. On-duty complications with a reckless ambulance driver (Steve Oliver) and the bitter driver of the car wrecked by Barry keep Jon and Ponch hopping.
